The nominations for the 2026 NDPHA Awards is now open.     

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!

Who can you recognize for their excellence, outstanding service, innovation or dedication to public health in North Dakota?

Nominate a deserving individual or team for one of the following awards:

NDPHA Awards

Public Health Worker of the Year: This award honors a current member of NDPHA for outstanding Public Health contributions or achievements in 2024 in North Dakota.

Public Health Team of the Year: This award recognizes a team that has worked collaboratively on a unique, creative or simply outstanding public health effort, program or goal in the past year. At least one team member must be a current member of NDPHA.

Outstanding Service Award: The award honors an individual who has exhibited continued excellence in the field of public health.  The nominee can be chosen from any lay or professional group. The major portion of achievement shall have been accomplished in North Dakota or by a North Dakota native in another state or at the federal level. This individual shall have contributed to the promotion and advancement of public health.

Note: Those nominating individuals for awards do not need to be members of NDPHA.  

Nomination Process

Nominators should submit a completed nomination form by February 15, 2026.  Nominators are required to submit their contact information as well as providing a narrative as to why the nominee is worthy of the selected award.   Nominators will be notified by March 6, 2026 if their nominee is selected. Awards Presentation

All awards will be presented at the 2026 NDPHA Annual Business Meeting which will be held May 5, 2026 from 8:30-11:30am, in person at Bismarck State College, as well as via Zoom.  Award winners are not required to attend the annual meeting, but are encouraged to do so.  


Nomination Tips and Tricks

NDPHA is honored that you are considering nominating one of your colleagues for an award at this year’s conference. The key to a great nomination, is highlighting specific information that illustrates how the individual or team’s achievements have made a positive impact on public health in North Dakota (and maybe even nationally).
